| Covington City Manager Allen Dressler Announces Grand Opening of Maple Trail Putt Putt
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Covington, VA (July 18, 2025)— At promptly 10:30 a.m. this morning, the Alleghany Journal visited the Maple Trail Putt Putt for a media conference at the request of Covington's Director of Parks and Recreation, Lisa Worley. Worley was present with her granddaughter, Kinsley Seldomride; C.W. Smith, Administrative Assistant for Covington Parks and Rec.; Allen Dressler, Covington City Manager; and Sammy Akers, a summer intern with the recreation department.
The brief media conference featured Dressler highlighting the ins and outs of the new Maple Trail Putt Putt, located at the Jackson River Sports Complex (JRSC) at 870 Edgemont Drive in Covington. Dressler discussed the building of the playground equipment —which, he noted, Kinsley Seldomridge has been itching to try out— as well as the donation of the park benches, the new gazebo overlooking the Jackson River, and, of course, the construction of the mini-golf course and snack stand.
According to Dressler, the grand opening of the Maple Trail Putt Putt will be tomorrow, Saturday, July 19th, at 10 a.m. Afterwards, hours are expected to be Monday—Thursday, 10 a.m.—9 p.m.; Friday—Saturday, 10 a.m.—11 p.m.; and Sunday from 1 p.m.—9 p.m. Tickets will be $6 for adults, $4 for kids between the ages of 4—18, and free for toddlers three and under.
Concession items include hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, dill pickles, candy, ice-cream, and much more. | |
