 | Despite a rain out with thunder and lightning, the Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area handed out goodie bags to youngsters attending the Covington Lumberjacks doubleheader at Casey Field Thursday night. According to Kiwanis member Susan Knick, the club offers local youngsters and the community programs and opportunities which make lasting differences. “Service is in our hearts; everything we do is to serve our community,” said Knick. The club also hosts an annual duck race as a fund raiser for their community projects.
