12th Annual Alleghany XC Invitational Held Today at Jackson River Sports Complex By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (Sept. 26, 2026)— The 12th annual Alleghany XC Invitational was held today at the Jackson River Sports Complex (JRSC), located at 870 West Edgemont Drive in Covington. The event began at 9:00 a.m. this morning, ushering in more than 50 teams with over 1,000 participating athletes. Among the races held today was the Elementary 1,000-meter for boys and girls, Middle School boys and girls 3,000-meter, Boys Top 8 Varsity, Girls Top 8 Varsity, Men's JV Unlimited, and Women's JV Unlimited. Concessions were available for visitors, as well as a water monster for athletes to refill their water bottles. Additionally, custom race t-shirts were printed on-site and sold to spectators, all courtesy of Tees2go, located at 704 Middlebrook Avenue in Staunton. The meet was timed by Run Roanoke and all results will soon be made available on runroanoke.com and milestat.com.
