Covington, VA (Sept. 24, 2026)— The Alleghany Highlands Community Services (AHCS) team recently celebrated the exceptional contributions of its employees during a special Service Awards event. Held on Thursday, September 24, at the Family Life Center of the First Christian Church in Covington, the ceremony highlighted the dedication and hard work of more than a dozen team members following a delicious meal prepared for by Robert Patterson and his team from Court Street Restaurant.
The event was a true testimony of the agency's commitment to acknowledging the invaluable efforts of its staff. Among the various awards presented, the prestigious CARE Spirit Award stood out as one of the highlights. This annual accolade is bestowed upon an employee who exemplifies the agency's mission and vision at the highest level. This year, the Care Award was proudly presented to Kayla Douglas, Case Management Supervisor, whose exceptional service and dedication have made a significant impact on the community.

In addition to recognizing outstanding service, the awards ceremony also celebrated the enduring commitment of several of its longtime employees. Rhonda Adams was honored for her remarkable 35 years of service to AHCS. Her dedication is especially noteworthy, considering the agency itself has only been in existence for 43 years. Adams' long-standing contribution underlines the lasting impact that committed individuals can have within an organization.
