Temporary EBT Card Issuance Location Public Notice   Covington, VA (Sept. 23, 2026) – The Alleghany-Covington Department of Social Services’ main office at 110 Rosedale Avenue in Covington is temporarily closed to the public for construction and renovation. EBT cards will be issued at the temporary location listed below. TEMPORARY LOCATION AND HOURS: Clifton Academy 1000 Riverview Farm Road Covington, VA 24426 Monday through Friday: 9:00 a.m. to noon 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The temporary EBT issuance office is closed from noon to 1:00 p.m. and after 3:30 p.m. FINDING THE DSS WORKERS Clifton Academy is located on the other side of Mountain View Elementary School. Park in the Clifton Academy parking lot near the flagpole. Go to the office door, ring the buzzer, and tell staff that you are there to pick up an EBT card or speak with a DSS worker. A DSS worker will assist you at the window. IMPORTANT STAFFING NOTICE Benefit workers and CPS/APS workers will not be stationed at the Clifton Academy satellite office during this temporary period. Only EBT card issuance and related support will be available at this location. APPLICATIONS AND PAPERWORK The outside drop box at 110 Rosedale Avenue remains available for applications and other DSS paperwork and is checked daily. If you visit Clifton Academy for an EBT card, you may also give your paperwork or application to DSS staff there. QUESTIONS AND DURATION We expect this temporary arrangement to last approximately two weeks, depending on construction progress.
