Clifton Forge, VA (Aug. 27, 2027)— Five Sides, located at 511 Main Street in Clifton Forge, has announced the arrival of several new shops opening soon. Effective September 5th, customers will now have the convenience of entering the building from either Ridgeway or Main Street, as both doors will finally be accessible.

Once inside, visitors will be greeted by "French Row," a unique, European-inspired section of Five Sides offering a delicious array of baguettes, French breads, and other culinary delights. Customers will also enjoy additional seating in the newly-opened area. The addition promises to bring a taste of France to Clifton Forge, inviting customers to indulge in freshly baked goods. We highly recommend their fresh-baked bread dipped in one of the oils from OLuv Oil.

From a taste of Paris to a taste of Japan, Five Sides will also be introducing Clifton Forge's first-ever "Ramen Room." This will surely be a haven for ramen noodle enthusiasts whose noodles will come straight out of a vending machine. You read that correctly. According to McConnell, this innovative idea is actually quite popular there.

"So you go in and there's a vending machine and you pick your, whichever ramen you want, your packet... these are like real ramen. So you pick your ramen that you want and then you will have a little, almost like a sneeze bar situation," McConnell stated. "You can add your kimchi, your hard-boiled egg, your green onions, all that kind of stuff over there, and we'll have all the paper products in there... you put it under the pot cooker thing, but it doesn't cook it, but the bowl is in the induction bowl, so it goes in the bowl three to five minutes and you got ramen."

The Ramen Room will be housed in the corner of Five Sides where Sweetest Side currently rests, but no need to worry! Sweetest Side won't be going far. Rather, it will be relocating to the other side of the building, reimagined as "Sweetest Side of Grown Up." Debbie Laudermilk, manager at Five Sides, explains, "Because all that candy [currently in Sweetest Side], most of it is adult, nostalgic candy... We're gonna take a corner of Grown Ups and not carry as much candy. It's gonna be less candy and more bougie kind of stuff." The Sweetest Side of Grown Up is expected to open within the first two weeks of October, while the Ramen Room —which will house three vending machines to reduce wait—has an anticipated opening date sometime in December.

Adding to the diverse atmosphere at 5 Sides, the Pour De Forge vault will also be opening soon and is set to feature a selection of exquisite wines and cheeses, all of which will be available for purchase. While McConnell hopes to have this shop ready for the Christmas holidays, the exact opening date remains uncertain.

In the meantime, customers will be able to enjoy French Row and the opening of Hodgepodge come September 5th. "Hodgepodge is everything in OLuv Oil that's not food or Farmhouse Fresh," McConnell told the Journal. "We're taking Farmhouse Fresh out and housewares, that sort of thing, so that we can put more food in OLuv Oil." Among the food going into OLuv Oil, Kristin McConnell notes, is a line of peanut butter, which will include a garlic peanut butter perfect for Asian dishes.

These exciting new shops at Five Sides are sure to enhance the local culinary scene and bring much excitement to the town of Clifton Forge, providing residents and visitors alike with an array of delightful experiences. Rest assured, the Journal will be following this story closely and provide additional updates as they become available.
The Five Sides building, located at 511 Main Street in Clifton Forge, will soon be full of bustling businesses and exciting new things, including the town's first "Ramen Room."
