Ribbon Cutting Event Held for New 'Rise & Mend' Facility in Covington

Covington, VA (Aug. 19, 2026)— On Wednesday, August 19th, at 11:30 a.m., Rise & Mend proudly celebrated the official opening of their new facility with a ribbon-cutting event. Located at 310 West Main Street in Covington, Rise & Mend is a counseling facility dedicated to serving individuals of all ages, whether you are 5 or 105. It is co-managed by two licensed professional counselors: Bethany Hagy, LPC, and Brittany Wright, LPC, whose mission is to provide nonjudgemental and compassionate mental health support to the community.

The event featured several guest speakers, a fun ribbon-cutting moment outside the facility, snacks, self-guided tours, and time for socializing. Speakers included: Josh Taylor, Executive Director for the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism; Chris Doyle, President of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism; Susan Wolfe, Vice Mayor of Covington; Matt Garten, Chairman of the Alleghany County Board of Supervisors; Tyler Sizemore, Deputy Director of Alleghany Highlands Economic Development; and Bethany Hagy, Co-Founder of Rise & Mend.

The event marked a significant milestone for Rise & Mend, symbolizing their commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for mental health services in Covington. It is "based on the idea that our problems don't define who we are." According to the program handed out to guests, "We're [Rise & Mend] here to help you face life's challenges, improve and maintain your mental health, and help you be the best version of yourself."
