Burglary Investigation Underway in Alleghany County   Alleghany County, VA (Aug. 13, 2026) - On August 12, 2026, deputies with the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office responded to Stacks Lane in Clifton Forge, Virginia, regarding a reported burglary. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that an unknown individual had unlawfully entered the residence and stolen a locked safe containing several firearms. Preliminary investigation indicates that a vehicle was used to forcibly remove the safe by pulling it through the exterior wall of the residence, causing significant damage to the home. The scene was processed by deputies and investigators, and evidence was collected. The investigation remains active and ongoing.
