Jeter-Watson Elementary School teachers and staff received a Hollywood-style welcome to the new school year Aug. 4 as Principal Dee Ann Tickner and Assistant Principal Courtney Crawford rolled out the red carpet for an Academy Awards-themed celebration. Local businesses helped make the event special by donating breakfast treats and drinks, while an outdoor barbecue lunch brought staff together to celebrate the start of the year.
