National Night Out Huge Success in Clifton Forge By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Clifton Forge, VA (Aug. 4, 2026)— On the evening of Tuesday, August 4th, the Town of Clifton Forge participated in National Night Out and saw overwhelming success. The event was held at Linden Park from 6:00 p.m.—8:00 p.m. and featured the Clifton Forge Police Department (CFPD), vendors, the Clifton Forge Fire Department, first responders, and many more. The purpose for National Night Out is to promote partnerships with the local police department, community fellowship, and encourage safer neighborhoods. When the Journal arrived on the scene at 6:30 p.m., there was already a huge turnout despite the weather threatening to shut things down early. Locals were exploring a military vehicle, ambulances, fire trucks, purchasing snacks, and socializing with their families and neighbors. Just before we left the scene, we were privy to a partial rainbow in the sky and the takeoff of a Life-Guard helicopter. We caught a glimpse of a partial rainbow in the sky shortly before making our exit.
