JRSC Draws in Crowd with Josh Anglin Parade, Summer Holiday Extravaganza, and STARS Concert By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (July 25, 2026)— This afternoon, the festivities at the Jackson River Sports Complex (JRSC), located at 870 West Edgemont Drive in Covington, was not in short supply. Hosted by Covington Parks and Recreation, the JRSC held a Summer Holiday Extravaganza, which ran from 3:00 p.m.—8:00 p.m., inviting vendors to set up in the grass for a small $10 registration fee, which benefited the STARS. At promptly 5:00 p.m., things became a little more exciting when Covington's own Guiness World Record Holder, Josh Anglin, rode in a parade designed specifically to celebrate his recent, remarkable accomplishment. As readers may recall, the 19-year-old recently penned his name into the Guiness Book of World Records when he completed a little more than 137 hours of continuous 10-pin bowling at Thunder Alley last week. Following the brief parade, Anglin was awarded with a trophy on-stage at the River Rock Ampitheatre by Covington Vice Mayor, Susan Wolfe. Then at 6:00 p.m., the STARS performers took to the stage to delight the crowd with several numbers. Their opener, "With a Little Help From My Friends," originally performed by the Beatles, was quite the crowd-pleaser. The Journal noticed that one of the performers, in addition to singing, was also using sign language to communicate the upbeat song. The STARS singers performed several numbers, including "With a Little Help From My Friends," which was also interpreted using American Sign Language (ASL) by one of the performers.
