Covington, VA (July 23, 2026)— On July 23, 2026, at 4:30 p.m., a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the new office space of Melissa Hylton's State Farm Insurance, which is now located at 202 North Marion Avenue in Covington.

The building at 202 North Marion, once a residential home, caught Melissa Hylton's attention about six months ago when she noticed Scott and Lisa Bradley engaged in renovations. As Susie Crowder recounted, “Melissa's wheels started spinning when she walked by this property.” Inspired by the potential of the space, Melissa saw an opportunity to expand her business and enhance her client services.

Hylton wrote, "I have a growing team of 4 fantastic ladies: Susie Crowder, Agent and Office Manager; Kara McCallister, Amanda Bradley Tucker and Bambi Brooks, all agents specializing in Customer Needs first, regardless whether it be Sales or Service." Collectively, these women boast over 92 years of experience, a testament to the expertise and commitment of the team.

Today's speakers included Josh Taylor, Executive Director of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism; Erin Via, President Elect of the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce & Tourism; Susan Wolfe, Vice Mayor of Covington; Jeff Irvine, Mayor of Clifton Forge; Matt Garten, Chairman on the Board of Supervisors in Alleghany County; Tyler Sizemore, Deputy Director of Alleghany Highlands Economic Development; "Big Al" of Highway 64 with Big Al; and Crowder.
