Parade and Ceremony Highlight America’s 250th Birthday in Clifton Forge
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (July 4, 2026)- Clifton Forge was enveloped with patriotic fervor this morning as it celebrated America’s 250th birthday with its annual Stars and Stripes parade. The event was a vibrant tapestry of red, white, and blue, bringing together residents to honor the nation’s rich history and heritage.
The parade featured a few floats, lots of candy, and local community groups. Participants adorned in patriotic colors and costumes marched proudly through the streets, waving flags and spreading cheer. Children waved small flags, families gathered on the sidewalk, and veterans marched the streets in celebration of America's historic 250th birthday. The event was a joyful reminder of our gift of freedom and of community spirit.
Following the parade, attendees gathered at the Historic Masonic Theatre for a special Veterans Ceremony. This portion of the celebration was a moving tribute to those who have served and sacrificed for the nation. The ceremony was a solemn yet uplifting affair, drawing attention to the bravery and dedication of America's veterans and active service members.
A highlight of the ceremony was the "Roads of Honor" tribute video. The moving video-set to Patriotic music-paid homage to our Roads of Honor veterans, which highlights their years of service.
The Stars and Stripes parade and Veterans Ceremony provided a meaningful opportunity for reflection and celebration. As Clifton Forge marked America’s 250th birthday, the day served as a reminder of our nation's journey and the enduring spirit that binds us all together. It was a day filled with gratitude, remembrance, and hope for the future.
From all of us here at the Alleghany Journal, we wish you a safe and memorable Independence Day. Happy 4th!
