Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show Presses on Despite Rainfall By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (June 27, 2026)— The 7th annual Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show forged ahead despite Mother Nature's rainfall. The Back the Blue weekend officially kicked off last night at the Jackson River Sports Complex (JRSC), located at 870 W. Edgemont Drive in Covington, from 6:00 p.m.—9:30 p.m., featuring music by The Fender Benders. Meanwhile, Saturday's car show was a rainy one during the Journal's brief visit before noon. During the 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m. show today, there was a raffle, door prizes, 50/50, cash drawings, live DJ, dash plaques, vendors, food, goodie bags, law enforcement displays and demonstrations, and even a law enforcement canine. This evening will close out the special Back the Blue Scholarship Car Show weekend with a free concert by Rock Bottom Bridge. This will occur during the Back the Blue Bash, which will run from 6:30 p.m.—9:30 p.m. and feature raffles, a 50/50, and food service. This weekend's car show was presented by the Alleghany Cruisers.
