Renovations Underway for Victory Baptist Church
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (June 11, 2026)— Victory Baptist Church, located at 1600 Main Street in Clifton Forge, is embarking on a journey of growth and transformation. With a series of renovations and new constructions planned, the church is seeking to better accommodate its growing congregation.
"All these rooms, we're kind of outgrowing them, which is a blessing," said Pastor Brandon Nicely when the Journal interviewed him Thursday afternoon. "And so we're just going to make more room." The pastor also noted that the existing church building will undergo a significant transfiguration. It will become entirely a kids zone, focusing on providing a larger environment for their growing youth.
As for the construction going on just beside the church, Victory Baptist is erecting a brand new auditorium in its own building. The front "porch" of the current church will be transformed into a breezeway leading into the auditorium.
Another pivotal change includes the purchase of a new house. Specifically, the one right next to Domino's. This space, with construction still ongoing, is already serving multiple purposes and fills up fast on Sundays. It currently acts as Pastor Brandon Nicely's office and provides a dedicated area for Bible study, both for young men and teens.
The project is being headed by local contractors Shawn Nicely of Clifton Forge, and Haven Price of Price Buildings Inc. in Rocky Mount. "We hope to finish it [all renovations] by the end of this year or early 2027 is the goal," says Pastor Nicely.
