'Muscles with Russel' Celebrates America’s 250th Birthday with “Paws-itive” Patriotism Program   Clifton Forge, VA (June 1, 2026) - Clifton Forge Public Library - Get ready for a morning of history, heart, and wagging tails! In honor of the United States’ 250th anniversary, Muscles with Russell returns to the Clifton Forge Public Library for special summer reading event. This year’s program, “Red, White, and True Blue Friends,” will take place on Wednesday, June 17, from 11:00 to 12:00. Join Sue Ellen Haver and Muscles for an interactive presentation that connects the spirit of the American Dream – perseverance, courage, and community – with the relatable experiences of a dog. This unique session is designed to empower children by building confidence and fostering a sense of belonging within their own community. Through Muscles’ engaging demonstrations, children will explore what it means to be a “True Blue” friend and a resilient citizen. By viewing life’s challenges through a dog’s perspective, attendees will learn vital social and emotional skills, discovering that the “grit” used by our founders is the same grit they can use to face their own obstacles today. Special Anniversary Treats: Children participating in the event will receive a commemorative 250th Anniversary goodie bag of Muscles with Russell swag, including special edition coloring books, crayons, and stickers.
