Clifton Forge, VA (May 20, 2026)— It was a sunny, cloudless, temperatures above 80° kind of day today when the Journal ventured over to the C&O Railway Heritage Center. The Center is located at 705 Main Street in Clifton Forge and for the next two days, May 30 and 31, they are holding their annual C&O Railway Heritage Festival from 10:00 a.m.—4:00 p.m.
There were several vendors set up today for the occasion, including a table for Dean Taylor and his girlfriend, Jennifer. Taylor represented the Appalachian Division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA). The NMRA is a non-profit and the leading organization for scale model railroading enthusiasts. Taylor informed us he hoped to have a fundraiser in the future whose proceeds would go towards repainting some of the older structures at the heritage center.
In addition to Taylor's table were several other vendors selling unique crafts, trinkets, wreaths, etc. There was also a balloon-popping game with several stuffed animal prizes for winners. On the stage, the STARS performed several numbers for eager locals. | | Dean Taylor (NMRA) was set up at a table with his girlfriend, Jennifer, and spoke briefly to the Journal about a potential upcoming fundraiser whose money would go toward repainting the older structures at the C&O Railway Heritage Center. The Journal expects to have more on that story later as it develops.
