Brief Waste Management Meeting Held at Alleghany County Governmental Complex By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (May 19, 2026)— The Alleghany County Governmental Complex, located at 9212 Winterberry Avenue in Covington, hosted a brief presentation on Tuesday, May 19, at 3:00 p.m. The approximately 10-minute-long session was led by Shira Goldman, Regional Planner 1. Goldman's presentation featured three simple slides of a "Waste Management Plan" intended to "help the Alleghany Highlands plan for how waste will be reduced, reused, recycled, and disposed of over the next 20 years." It also featured the Core SWMP (Solid Waste Management Plan) Content Requirements and was meant to include a brief Q-and-A. However, no members of the public spoke or asked questions during the brief session.
