Covington, VA (May 16, 2026)— Melanie Forde, a local author and book enthusiast, recently published her sixth book, "Guardian of the Crossroads," which was a finalist for the 2025 Shelley Paranormal Book Award. It follows the story of Cate who, as Amazon describes "embarks on a journey of self-discovery, confronting buried talents, old wounds, and a destiny larger than she ever imagined."
The roughly 45-minute-long event featured Forde's summary of her book, as well as a brief reading, a Q-and-A with the audience, and a few refreshments. Forde also discussed her first book, "Hillwalla: A Novel," which eventually became a trilogy alongside "On the Hillwalla Road" (book 2), and "Reinventing Hillwalla" (book 3). Of the six books she has released, Forde stated it was actually "Decanted Truths" that was her favorite to write.
The Journal was on the scene to capture photos and video which will soon be made available on our Facebook page.
