Youth Day Draws Large Crowd and Happy Faces in Covington By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (May 9, 2026)— It was hopping day today in the city of Covington, both literally and figuratively. Covington Parks and Recreation hosted "Youth Day" at the Jackson River Sports Complex (JRSC) from 10:00 a.m.—2:00 p.m., bringing with it a plethora of activities, including bungee trampolines for the kiddos. Among other activities included drift carts, a splatter paint room, several vendors, archery, cornhole, putt-putt, a play area for smaller kids, lots of food, and several dance performances. From 11:00 a.m.—noon, Garlynda's Fancy Feet performed, while Patsy's Dance Studio took the stage from 12:15 p.m.—1:00 p.m. There were dozens of parents and children in the field at the JRSC, located at 870 W. Edgemont Drive in Covington, enjoying the wide variety of activities during our visit.
