Clifton Forge, VA (Apr. 18, 2026)— It was a magical night for Cora Dance Alleghany, who put on nine amazing numbers at the Historic Masonic Theatre in downtown Clifton Forge. Led by choreographers Shannon Hummel and Ammara Shafqat, as well as teaching assistants Caylin Kern and Faith Shull, dozens of dancers of all ages took to the stage and put on one breathtaking performance after another.
Featuring songs like "Diamonds in the Soles of Her Shoes" by Paul Simon, "Top of the World" by Imagine Dragons, "River" by Leon Bridges, "Humble and Kind" by Tim McGraw, "Dreams" by the Cranberries, among others, the music selection was an eclectic variety that pleased the crowd.
The groups were broken up into dancers of different skill levels, highlighting each performer's impressive abilities. There was also a solo performance by CYC/Cora Youth Company dancer, Faith Shull, and a duet performed by CYC/Cora Youth Company dancers, Aleigha Holloway and Faith Shull.
The Alleghany Journal was on the scene to capture photos and videos of tonight's exciting event and will be posting soon on our Facebook page. | | (L to R) Choreographers Shannon Hummel and Ammara Shafqat also emceed the entirety of tonight's event at the Masonic.
