 | Jackson River Technical Center Culinary Arts students earned top honors at the Virginia Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) competitions in Virginia Beach. From left, Abby Patterson, Cadence Bland, Ayonna Gibson, Marissa Nicely. Patterson and Gibson earned bronze ratings in the Baking and Pastry Competition Level 3. Bland placed first in Culinary Arts Exhibition Level 3, and Nicely placed second in Culinary Arts Competition Level 3 and qualified for the FCCLA National Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., in July. Bland and Nicely also received more than $23,000 in combined scholarship offers. All competitors are juniors.
