| Smith Creek Waterline Project Nearing Completion Says Town Manager Chuck Unroe
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (Apr. 14, 2026)— The Clifton Forge Town Council assembled for its regular meeting on Tuesday night, April 14th, at 7:00 p.m. in the upstairs room at Clifton Forge Town Hall. The meeting, which typically extends over an hour, concluded unusually early, wrapping up in just under 30 minutes.
During the brief meeting, Town Manager Chuck Unroe provided updates on several ongoing projects in Clifton Forge. Among these was the Smith Creek Waterline Project, which he says is nearing its completion. "Finally, I'm happy to say that Smith Creek Waterline Project is in its last few days. They are cleaning up the properties that were impacted by the excavation work. I think they're down to one property left to clean up now," said Unroe, "and that portion of the Smith Creek Waterline will be complete."
The Smith Creek Waterline Project has been a significant focus for the town of Clifton Forge, aiming to enhance the water infrastructure and ensure reliable services for residents.
The entirety of the April 14th Clifton Forge Town Council Meeting was livestreamed on the Alleghany Journal Facebook page and is currently available for viewing.
