Cousins Jayce Taylor (left) and Jordan Wesley were happy to pose for a quick photo with the Journal this afternoon. As it happens, the boys are just six months apart. Jayce is seven, while Jordan is six, and quickly approaching his birthday. Meanwhile, their mothers, who are sisters, are a whopping 20 years apart!

Covington Residents Enjoy Special Easter Celebration Saturday Afternoon

Covington, VA (March 28, 2025)— Each year, Covington Parks and Recreation hosts a delightful Easter celebration that brings joy to local families. This vibrant event began at Covington City Hall where many lined up to participate in a brief parade which involved escorting the Easter Bunny to Main Street Park. There, an Easter egg hunt took place and children were privy to meeting and taking photos with the Easter Bunny.

Excitement filled the air as children eagerly waited on the basketball court for the Easter egg hunt to begin. Organizers thoughtfully divided the children into different age groups to ensure everyone had a fair chance at finding the numerous, pastel-colored eggs—all of which were stocked with small prizes— strewn about the park. It was a lively scene indeed as the young hunters scurried about, baskets in hand, searching for colorful eggs. The most coveted finds were the golden eggs, which contained "extra special" prizes.

Of course, no Easter celebration would be complete without a visit from the Easter Bunny. Children had the opportunity to meet and take photos with the furry, well-dressed character, creating lasting memories their parents will treasure for years to come.

The Journal was on-hand to capture a few of these moments for ourselves. Those photos will soon be available on the Alleghany Journal Facebook page.
