Low Moor, VA (Mar. 16, 2016)— Three local businesses were honored this evening for the Virginia School Boards Association's (VSBA) Business Honor Roll during the regular Alleghany Highlands School Board meeting held in Low Moor. Darrell Gleason, Communications Specialist for Alleghany Highlands Public Schools, gave a brief presentation recognizing Wiley's Garden Center, Maag Gala (Botetourt County), and Williams Fabrication.
"We do this annually so that we can recognize businesses that make a meaningful investment in our students and in our public schools in the Alleghany Highlands," said Gleason Monday night. Gleason also noted that each of these businesses have contributed greatly to local schools.
Wiley's Garden Center recently helped launch a new STEM program for Covington Middle School with the partnership of Virginia Tech, while the Maag Gala and Williams Fabrication have both assisted JRTC (Jackson River Technical Center) and its students for over 20 years.
Representing these businesses were James Hogendobler, co-owner of Wiley's Garden Center, Jason VanNess for the Maag Gala, and Tony Williams, President of Williams Fabrication.
