| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (Feb. 28, 2026) — The "All Fired Up: A Tribute to Pat Benatar" concert was held at the Masonic Theatre on Saturday night, February 28, and was a well-attended event here in the Alleghany Highlands. It celebrated the longtime collaboration of Pat Benatar and her husband/guitarist, Neil Giraldo.
Led by vocalist JD, the band also consists of John Mekita on keyboards, Zach Phillips on vocals, drums and percussion, and Ray Beebe on bass and vocals. Audience members stood, danced, and cheered throughout the two-hour-long experience that served up hits like Barracuda, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Love is a Battlefield, and We Belong.
Throughout the concert, lead singer/vocalist JD captivated the audience with numerous stories about Pat and Neil, whose relationship was built on, as she described it, "a love at first sight thing." She took the audience through Benatar's personal journey, discussing her marriage to Neil Giraldo, her band, and the inspiration behind the duo's biggest hits.
The Alleghany Journal was available for a few photos, which will soon be available on our Facebook page. | | | |
