Celebrate Recovery Group Graduates At Regional Jail

Covington, VA (Jan. 22, 2026) - Today in the Alleghany Regional Jail the "Celebrate Recovery" group graduated. These men have completed the program, which requires them to complete assignments, speak about the situation they have found themselves in so that they can hopefully prepare themselves to re-enter society once they have completed their sentences. Some of these men have completed this program twice and say that it is a great program that helps them take accountability for the crimes they have committed and the bad decisions they have made.

Today they were treated to pizza and soft drinks for their completion of the program.

Pastor Steve Noel, Tom Sibold and George Broughman have been a part of this program since its inception and enjoy being able to help these men during their incarceration.

"The Alleghany Regional Jail is very hopeful that this program will help reduce recidivism and crime in Alleghany County," said Sheriff Kyle Moore.

"As Sheriff, I definitely think that the Alleghany County Sheriff's Office is making a difference in the lives of all citizens in our county. Whether that be with our inmate work crew, cleaning up illegal dump sites and keeping our county beautiful or through programs within the Regional Jail that help our folks who are incarcerated prepare themselves for a better life on the outside. Please continue to support these and other valuable programs that we offer," he said.
