Lone Star Baptist Church Adds Blessing Box to Community Ministry   Potts Creek, VA (Jan. 18, 2026) - On a cold Sunday morning in January, the congregation of Lone Star Baptist Church dedicated its new Blessing Box, expanding the church’s ongoing commitment to serving the local community. The Blessing Box is stocked with food, toiletries, and cleaning supplies and is available free of charge to anyone in need. Community members may drive up, take what they need, and go—no questions asked. The Blessing Box is accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Blessing Box is the latest addition to Lone Star Baptist Church’s community ministries. Other outreach efforts include a monthly Clothes Closet and Sunday Suppers. The Clothes Closet, which has been in operation since 2011, is open on the third Friday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Community members in need are invited to “shop” donated clothing at no cost. Sunday Suppers are held on the first Sunday of each month at 5 p.m. A different meal is served each month, and neighbors are invited to come eat, visit, and spend time together. Again, there is no cost for the meal or the company. Lone Star Baptist Church is led by longtime pastor Donald Earwood. “Our congregation is dedicated to serving not just the members of this church, but the surrounding community,” Earwood said.
