Covington, VA (Dec. 13, 2025)— As the Journal recently reported, Melvin and Laura Snead —also known as "Milk and Honey"— held an open house to unveil 50 Christmas trees at their home. This evening, the Journal paid them a second visit, receiving another full and festive tour from Laura. As we moved from one room to another, we took the time to count the trees with "Honey."

When all was said and done, we counted a whopping 51 trees, including six which were set up outside. We asked around to the many visitors this evening to find out which tree was their favorite. The tree which received the most votes was a handmade "Village Tree" made by Melvin for his wife. Coming in second was the "Jesus Tree," which was covered in handmade ornaments by Melvin featuring the "25 names of Jesus."
The "Peanuts" tree has always been a personal favorite of this writer, who has frequented the Snead home in years past during their annual Open House. This is one of the trees holding ornaments made by Melvin Snead.

Several guests showed up for tonight's Open House, including Journal contributor Ashley Prior, who brought her husband Mike and son, Michael. The Prior's opted to pose in front of another favorite of the evening, the "Jesus Tree."

This "Angel Tree" was put out in memory of Laura's father who passed nearly three years ago.
