| 6th Annual Toy Drive Draws Huge Crowd at Clifton Forge Fire House
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (Dec. 13, 2025)— It was a big night indeed for the Clifton Forge Fire House who saw wall-to-wall traffic upon opening the doors for this year's 6th Annual Toy Drive. The Toy Drive, hosted by the Clifton Forge Police Department (CFPD), has quickly become a beloved tradition with dozens, if not hundreds, of local children having their opportunity to collect a toy from Santa himself shortly before his big sleigh ride on Christmas Eve night.
The Journal spoke to a few volunteers who shared that Santa had quite a few elves helping out for this year's event. They simply called up the First Responder's Children Foundation, alerted them of how many toys were needed and what ages, and the toys were promptly sent over. There were also many donors for the toys: Good 360, Mattel, Jazwares, Toys For Tots, Spin Master, Build-A-Bear Foundation, Hess Toy Truck, and Warwick Fulfillment Solutions.
Shortly following the event, we hear Santa rushed to his sleigh —which was parked in a undisclosed location in the Alleghany Highlands— in order to hurry back to the North Pole. Therefore, if anyone heard sleigh bells or noticed a red light in the sky this evening, we imagine it was Santa in the sky with Rudolph leading the other eight reindeer back up north. | | | This 82-year-old grandmother was all smiles when Santa sat on her lap during tonight's 6th annual Toy Drive.
