CF Tree Lighting Ceremony: Dancing, Christmas Carols & 'Snow'
| By Jerry E. Clark
| Clifton Forge, VA (Nov. 22, 2025) - The Clifton Forge Main Street sponsored tree lighting ceremony was a delightful event on a very pleasant evening on Saturday.
The temperature was in the 50s as Mayor Jeff Irvine welcomed all to the event and CF Main Street Jenny Oeltjen joined in with her thanks for all involved.
Paper "snow" came down onto the town hall's entrance to make the event more festive.
The Immanuel Baptist Choir along with conductor and Pastor Luke Benton performed some songs and then later, some popular Christmas carols, encouraging many to sing along.
Cora Dance Alleghany and Garlynda's Fancy Feet organized provided some excellent dance entertainment as well.
The Alleghany Journal provided LIVE coverage of the event, which attracted a couple hundred regional citizens to the town hall area to enjoy the festivities.[
And, after the formal event and tree lighting, Santa showed up and their were drinks and cookies available for all to enjoy.
