By Jennifer Bailey
Staff Writer

Clifton Forge, VA (Nov. 11, 2025)— It was a bitter cold morning indeed at Veterans Park when several residents lined the sidewalk in anticipation of the annual 11:00 a.m. ceremony honor Veterans Day. Among the veterans participating included, but are not limited to: Richard Erskine, post commander; Tom McHenry, Post Chaplain; Richard L. Shull, trustee; Grover Nicely, senior vice-commander; and Jim Rhodes, quartermaster.

Several local officials also showed up to honor the veterans including Town Manager Chuck Unroe, Mayor Jeff Irvine, and Vice-Mayor Dale Burdette. Councilwoman Debbie Laudermilk —who also manages the stores in the 5 Sides building— also showed up to treat the crowd with fresh donuts from "Hawt Stuph."

The Journal expects to produce the ceremony in full later today on its Facebook page.
