Area 18 Special Olympics Team Receives Police Escort Out of Town

Clifton Forge, VA (Nov. 7, 2025)— This morning, the Alleghany Journal caught up with the Area 18 Special Olympics Team at Hardees in Clifton Forge. The bright-eyed bunch had just finished up their breakfast and were preparing to head out of town to Virginia Beach where the Special Olympics State Championship is being held. At around 10:00 a.m. this morning, several members of the police department arrived to give Area 18 a well-deserved sendoff.
