Over 400 Pumpkins Handed Out in 45 Minutes During Pumpkins in the Park Event By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (Oct. 25, 2025)— It was a swift giveaway today for the Covington Parks and Recreation Department during their annual Pumpkins in the Park event at the Jackson River Sports Complex. Lisa Worley, the Director of Covington Parks and Rec, reached out to the Journal to let us know they'd handed out exactly 420 Pumpkins in just 45 minutes during the highly anticipated event. Pumpkins in the Park ran from 2:00 p.m.—5:00 p.m. this afternoon and featured several activities and great food for the family. Jonathan Calloway of Calloway Enterprises Inc. was on hand with several bouncy houses that many of the children enjoyed during their time, while Kars Unlimited hosted a car show behind the ampitheatre.
