Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 16, 2025)— It's been an exciting day today for local resident Kristen McConnell today. This morning, the Alleghany Journal interviewed the attorney/business owner who just opened her two newest stores: Hawt Stuph and Wicked Weiners today in her Five Sides building downtown. That interview will soon be available on the Alleghany Journal Facebook page.
As previously reported on the Journal, Hawt Stuph is selling mostly hot beverages including specialty coffees, hot chocolate, and teas, but also offers hot drinks. Wicked Weiners provides six different specialty hot dogs and can even be ordered in their second drive-thru. McConnell kept the old pneumatic tubes —once used for cashing/depositing checks or cash at the former bank— for wrapping up weiners and delivering them to customers. She calls it the "Weenie Whizzer."
This morning, the weenie whizzer served it's very first customer, Jack Berberette, who got to enjoy the fully-functioning device. The Journal caught it all on camera. That footage will soon be available on our Facebook page.
