MGCC Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony For MG-TECH IT Program

 
Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 14, 2025) - Mountain Gateway Community College held an informative ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tues., Oct. 13th with several speakers present including a Deputy Secretary of Education, Zach Jacobs.

Launched in the fall of 2025, t he MG-TECH IT Academy provides high school sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a strong foundation in Information Technology (IT).

Students are already progressing through specialized pathways that led to industry-recognized certificates, preparing them for immediate entry into IT careers or continued education after graduation.

The Academy was created in response to the region's need for strong educational and career opportunities. With IT jobs projected to grow 11% from 2019 to 2029 (Bureau of Labor Statistics), MG-TECH equips studens with the skills, mentorship and resources needed to build successful future in the fast-growing tech industry.
