MGCC Staff Members Honored with VCCA Showcase Awards   Clifton Forge, VA (Oct. 6, 2025) - Two Mountain Gateway Community College employees have been recognized by the Virginia Community College Association (VCCA) for their exceptional contributions to the college and its students. Scott Reigel, head of MGCC’s Forestry program, and Melissa Newberry, Research Analyst, were both selected to receive the prestigious VCCA Showcase Award. Nominated by their colleagues, the award highlights their dedication, professionalism, and outstanding service within Mountain Gateway and the Virginia Community College System. Their recognition reflects Mountain Gateway Community College’s continued commitment to excellence in education and student support. The awards were presented recently at the VCCA’s annual conference held in Bristol.
