| Clifton Forge, VA (Aug. 27, 2025) - On Saturday, September 13 at 7:00 pm Johnny King and a host of talented musicians, including none other than B.B.King's legendary Rhythm Section, with Tony Coleman and Russell Jackson, will appear on the stage of the Masonic Amphitheatre to share the blues with the Alleghany Highlands and beyond.
Johnny King lights up the guitar like lightning striking. He is a guitar virtuoso and captivating soul singer who has been professionally performing nationwide for over thirty years. The House of Blues in Dallas has compared Johnny King to a cross between the Neville Brothers and John Fogerty! Johnny King is a skilled musician that has spent a lifetime mastering his craft and performing live entertainment. Johnny has performed and recorded with a long list of Grammy Award Winners and distinguished artists who have inspired him with their time and talent to produce extraordinary musical entertainment and history-breaking recordings.
Tony Coleman is a Grammy Award Winner who has had an illustrious career spanning five decades touring the world with B.B. King, Otis Clay, Bobby Blue Bland, Johnnie Taylor, Albert King, Albert Collins, Etta James, James Cotton, Katie Webster, Z.Z. Hill, O.V. Wright and Buddy Guy. Tony played over 300 shows per year for 25 years with the legendary B.B. King. He is a co-producer and performer on Johnny Kingâs new album âCall It Confusion.â
Russell Jackson has more than five decades under his belt as a master of both acoustic and electric bass. He was the first to employ the slap bass in a blues context, over time earning the moniker, âthe Groove Master.â He was spotted by none other than the renowned B.B. King, who invited him to join the B.B. King Orchestra. He spent the next seven years touring the world with the âAmbassador of the Blues!â Mr. Jackson has also performed with other Blues heavyweights including vocalist Otis Clay and Willie Dixon. Russell continues to champion the tradition of the stand-up bass.

Bring your comfy lawn chairs or use our bench seating. Food and beverages are available beginning at 5:00 pm. Restrooms and concessions are in the Theatre Underground. Tickets are $15 at the door. The event will be moved inside in the case of inclement weather. The blues are alive in Clifton Forge!
