Covington Middle School science teachers recently participated in STEM Next Door Teacher Training at Virginia Tech, preparing for an innovative STEM-agriculture program set to launch this fall. This initiative, supported by the City of Covington, is a collaborative effort with Virginia Tech and Wiley’s Garden Center, conveniently located across from CMS. Students will dive into plant science, hydroponics, and horticulture through engaging, hands-on activities. The goal is to spark interest in agriculture and science, and to introduce students to exciting career paths in farming, technology, and agricultural innovation.
