Clifton Forge, VA (July 27, 2025)— Despite the scorching heat outside, the Historic Masonic Theatre was, as the kids say, "fire" inside as the STARS singers took the stage in their summer program, appropriately called, "In the Summertime!"

As in presentations past, this event's program consisted of a group opening followed by several soloists, a mid-program break, and a group finale to close things out. The main difference was, at the request of the STARS singers, the "Star Spangled Banner" was sung by the STARS performers following the pray and pledge of allegiance.

As usual, the program was emceed by Chris Fisher, longtime supporter of the STARS, though Ben Nicely —who often accompanies Fisher— was at the beach enjoying his vacation. The Journal noted some playful dialogue regarding recent photos taken of Nicely in a "coconut outfit" which Fisher stated he may be sharing in the near future. We must admit, we are quite curious to know what a "coconut outfit" is. Share on, Mr. Fisher.

This program's songs were on point with the theme and featured hits like, "In the Summertime" by Mungo Jerry, performed by all the STARS; "Summertime" originally by Abbie Mitchell, performed by Kassandra Robertson; "Summertime Blues" by Eddie Cochran, performed by Ricky McCoy; "I Can See Clearly Now" by Johnny Nash, performed by Bonnie Crance; and many more.

Throughout the program, Chris Fisher had many to name in appreciation for putting on the concert including, but not limited to, Ray Allen, Appalfolks of America, Bill Wade, Mike Unroe, the city of Covington, the town of Clifton Forge, Alleghany County, etc.
As always, Chris Fisher emceed the STARS performance.

Wendy Hudler, Director of Operations for the Historic Masonic Theatre, gave a brief introduction before the STARS took the stage.

There were several solo performances, including this one by Ryan Jeter who praised God during his performance of "Goodness of God," originally sung by Bethel Music.
