Veterans' Ceremony Includes America's History, Veteran Honors, and Special Birthday Party for Masonic
| By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer | Clifton Forge, VA (July 4, 2025)— Earlier today following the "Stars and Stripes" parade in Clifton Forge, the Historic Masonic Theatre hosted a very special Veterans' Ceremony at their facility. It included a very brief ceremony in Veterans' Park where a wreath was placed down to honor those who not only served in some branch of the military, but who are no longer with us. Afterwards, a group of five played "Amazing Grace" on the bagpipes.
The moving ceremony was followed up by an honoring of our living veterans inside the Masonic. Following the placement of the flag and the singing of the national anthem, several youths took turns at the microphone to tell the history of American and how she broke apart from Britain officially on July 4, 1776.
Ironically, the Historic Masonic Theatre shares a birthday with America apart from the year. The Masonic, with a budget of $42,000 in 1905, was completed on July 4. Today marked the Masonic's 120th birthday. As such, a brief presentation followed the Veterans' Ceremony in the Underground. Cake, adult beverages, and soda was served to those who came downstairs. | | | |
