VSP Investigating Rockbridge Co. Fatal Crash   Lexington, VA (June 6, 2025) - Virginia State Police is investigating a two-vehicle crash, which resulted in a fatality. The crash occurred Wednesday, (June 4) at 3:06 p.m. on East Midland Trail, at the intersection of Memorial Lane in Rockbridge County. A 2018 Jaguar XF failed to yield the right-of-way while entering East Midland Trail and was struck by a 2012 Honda Civic, which was traveling east on Midland Trail. The driver of the Jaguar was identified as Melodie Vohar, 78, of Lexington, Va. Ms. Vohar was wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene. The 78-year-old male passenger was wearing his seatbelt and was not injured. The 19-year-old female driver and the 24-year-old male passenger of the Civic were not wearing their seatbelts and were both injured. They were transported to a local hospital. The crash remains under investigation.
