AHS Senior Prank Leaves One Struggling to Find Parking Spot By Jennifer Bailey Staff Writer   Covington, VA (May 22, 2025)— This morning, the Journal found itself in the Alleghany High School (AHS) parking lot to capture photos of this year's alleged senior prank that presumably took place sometime between yesterday's twilight and this morning's sunrise. The problem? Part of the prank included some interesting parking choices that had us maneuvering strategically through the lot. Well done, seniors. Well done. Getting out of our vehicle, a toilet paper "tumbleweed" rolled past, getting itself caught on the exterior street light toward the front of the school. That's about the time we noticed the cascading waterfalls of toilet paper pouring down from the trees, strategically tied to several branches. The AHS lawn was also sprinkled with white strands which most certainly made their way down with each passing gust of wind. Simple, but effective. We also noticed, both coming in and going out, that the giant rock outside—a staple of the school even before my four years there— had been tagged with two words: "Get Pranked." A fair warning, perhaps, to any and everyone that today would not be your typical visit to Alleghany High School. While we have gotten reports of an alleged "sleepover on the lawn that didn't happen," costumes, and interior decorations that "were taken down this morning" prior to our arrival —all claiming to have been part of this year's prank— we were unable to confirm the declarations prior to the publication of this article. Regardless, it seems this year's senior prank was epic; one way or another.
