As a former Alleghany County Administrator, I have had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the dedication and effectiveness of Delegate Terry Austin in addressing the needs of our community. His commitment to improving the lives of the residents in our region has been unwavering, and nowhere is this more evident than in his efforts to secure funding for the improvement of Route 220 from Eagle Rock to Iron Gate. This critical infrastructure project represents more than just an upgrade to a major roadway — it is an investment in the future of our county. Improved safety and connectivity on Route 220 benefits residents and local businesses alike, while also creating opportunities for regional economic growth. What truly sets Delegate Austin apart is his responsiveness to the concerns of the people he represents. He has consistently shown a willingness to listen and engage with community members, addressing their needs and priorities. His approachability and commitment to service have been invaluable in building trust and delivering results for Alleghany County. Delegate Austin was also critical to the success of our regional pad-ready site. He understands the vital role that infrastructure plays in fostering economic development and improving quality of life. His ability to secure funding for this essential project demonstrates both his leadership and his effectiveness as a legislator. This kind of proactive, results-driven approach is exactly what Alleghany County needs to thrive.
