Covington, VA (May 7, 2025)— It was quite the cozy, warm evening for Alleghany High School (AHS) to hold their annual "Senior Awards Night" in Hodnett Hall A.K.A. "the auditorium."

Following Principal Derek Cantrell's welcome, dozens of AHS seniors were honored with awards such as "The Governor's Honor Medallion," "The 2025 Male and Female Athlete of the Year" award, the "Early College Scholars" award, and a plethora of scholarships.

The scholarships included, but are not limited to: the "Alleghany High School Class of 2024 Scholarship," the "Carter Wickline Memorial Scholarship," the "Daniel 'Danny' Kidd, Jr. Scholarship," the "Surviving and Giving Back Scholarship," the "Jada Callender Memorial Scholarship," the "Joseph B. Broughman (J.B.) Memorial Scholarship," the "Kenneth James Memorial Scholarship," the "Back the Blue Justice Scholarship," the "Sgt. Shawn M. Dunkin Memorial Scholarship," the "Covington Junior Woman's Club Scholarship," the "Clifton Forge High School Alumni Association Scholarships," and many, many more.

Following the near three-hour long presentation of awards and scholarships, refreshments were served in the AHS lobby.
