Matthew was named the college’s second Student Poet Laureate for his piece, “I Expect the Worst of You,” which explores betrayal, façades, and the elusive nature of truly understanding others. Bethany, the contest’s runner-up, shared her imaginative work, “The Lion and The Dragon,” a whimsical piece inspired by cloud formations brought to life through her creative lens. Both are enrolled in MGCC’s new Liberal Arts program and are passionate about writing and self-expression.
