'Give Local Alleghany Highlands' Fundraiser Brings In $491,498

 
Covington, VA (June 4, 2024) - The Alleghany Foundation and the Alleghany Highlands Chamber of Commerce and Tourism are thrilled to report the tremendous success of the recent community-wide 24-hour online fundraiser, 2024 Give Local Alleghany Highlands. The event, which took place on Tuesday, May 21, brought together nonprofits and individuals from across our community in a remarkable display of generosity. Thanks to the support and participation of our local nonprofits, volunteers, and donors, the event exceeded expectations with thirty-nine registered nonprofits and over $491,498 raised.

"We are truly humbled by the outpouring of support from our community during the Give Local Alleghany Highlands," said Susan W. Rollinson, Ph.D., President of The Alleghany Foundation. "This event exemplifies the power of community and demonstrates what can be achieved when we come together."

The funds raised through this collaborative initiative will have a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of those served by these nonprofits. From supporting vital programs and services to advancing important advocacy efforts, these funds will make a difference in our community for years to come.

Unique Donors: 479 (previous year unique donors: 381)

Online Donations: $87.5 K (previous year: $86.2K)

Prize amount: $35,000

Fees Cover: $5,148

Fee Coverage: 93.6%

Event registered Causes: 39 (previous year 34)

Surpassed Early Giving totals from last year by $1,000
