| Bath Community Hospital Hosts Employee Service Awards Banquet
|
| Hot Springs, VA - Bath Community Hospital celebrated its dedicated and hardworking staff at an Employee Service Awards banquet on Wednesday, May 29th at the Garth Newel Music Center.
The event honored employees who have dedicated years of service to the hospital, with awards given for 5 to 40+ years of service. In total, over 75 employees, and a combined 842 years, were recognized for their commitment and contributions to providing quality healthcare to the community. Employees and their loved ones celebrated work anniversaries and enjoyed an evening socializing outside of a clinical setting. The group also fondly remembered Millie Williams, who would have marked her forty-second year at BCH this year.
"Our employees are the heart of Bath Community Hospital and most are native to Bath and the region," said Hospital CEO, Jeff Lingefelt. "This an opportunity to thank them for their unwavering dedication, celebrate their achievements, and show appreciation for who is supporting them at home. Their hard work and compassion make a real difference in the lives of our patients and their co-workers every single day."
The evening included a mouthwatering dinner buffet and entertainment provided by V.J. Smith, an inspirational speaker who shared how one person's kindness can transform a community. Smith had previously served two terms as a member of the South Dakota Senate from the 7th district, from 2019 to 2023. A recognition ceremony led by hospital leadership and Vice Chair Tim Pistell presented commemorative awards to mark the employees' milestone years of service, along with autographed copies of Smith's book, "The Richest Man in Town," a biography of a Walmart employee.
"It's wonderful to see so many familiar faces year after year," added Lingerfelt. "Our staff is truly a family, and we are honored to recognize their loyalty and service."
