6 String Soldiers Live At Historic Masonic Theatre April 19

Clifton Forge, VA (April 10, 2024) - On Friday, April 19, the Alleghany Highlands Arts Council will present the Six String Soldiers in concert at the Historic Masonic Theatre beginning at 7:00 p.m. There is no charge for this event.

A subsidiary of the US Army Field Band, the Six-String Soldiers is a five-member active-duty country music group performing Americana and patriotic music. They travel across the USA with the mission of connecting America to its Army.

The group was formed in 2015 by active-duty Soldiers looking for ways to fulfill the Army’s commitment to its Soldiers and veterans. Since then, they have appeared on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Morning Express with Robin Meade, Harry with Harry Connick Jr., and Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family show.

“We have been working for a couple of years to bring this group to our community,” said Arts Council Executive Director Tammy Scruggs-Duncan. “Our local vets and service people will be special guests at the concert. We hope everyone will come out for a show that promises to be a real crowd-pleaser.”

Free tickets can be obtained online at arts4allalleghanyhighlands.com/event/six-string-soldiers and will be available at the door.

The Arts Council operates with funding assistance from the Virginia Commission for the Arts, the National Endowment for the Arts, the Alleghany Foundation, the City of Covington, the County of Alleghany, the Town of Clifton Forge, and individual donors.
