Art Display at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library   Covington, VA (Feb. 8, 2024) - Currently on display at the Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is a collection of photographs by local photographer Jeff Bartley. Jeff came to the Alleghany Highlands in 1976 when he and his wife, Dorothy, began teaching at Alleghany High School. His photography career began in 1978 with the purchase of a completely manual 35mm camera, learning every step of the image creating process from the ground up. He officially began his portrait and wedding photography business, Jeff Bartley Photography, in 1996. Jeff also enjoys wildlife photography and capturing images while traveling the area’s back roads with his wife. Since retiring in 2014, the time they’ve devoted to travel has grown, having now traveled to 49 states, 62 national parks, 12 countries and 4 continents. Jeff’s work can be viewed in the Casual Reading Area at Alleghany Highlands Regional Library until March 3rd. His work also displays at Clifton Forge Public Library, Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center and at Sweet Treats in Lexington, VA. Two of his photos have been published by the National Park Service for Friendship Hill NHS in Point Marion, PA. The Alleghany Highlands Regional Library is located at 406 W.
